MOLDAVITE

Moldavite is a tektite, the only extra-terrestrial gemstone, and is found only in the Tertiary and early Peistocene deposits in Bohemia and Moravia, i.e. the Moldau Valley in the Czech Republic. Lately there have been other green tektites or imitations that are called "moldavite," show up on eBay and other websites, but only the Czech moldavite is the "real thing."   Isotope analysis of samples of moldavite have shown a beryllium-10 isotope composition.  For centuries, it was believed to be a variety of obsidian, but its difficult fusibility and its chemical composition are against a volcanic origin.

It is interesting to note that Moldavite has been associated with the legendary "Stone of the Holy Grail," an "emerald" said to have fallen from the sky, and a talisman for the healing of the Earth. In the legends, exposure to this Stone was said to set the beholder upon the spiritual road to self discovery and enlightenment. The same could be said of the celestial green gemstone Moldavite.

Moldavite is capable of activating any and all of the chakras, though it most commonly resonates with the heart, third eye, and crown chakras. Moldavite's energy tends first to move wherever it is most needed in the physical and etheric bodies, and then to center in the heart.  Moldavite is also associated with the Star card of the Tarot. It strengthens and enhances inner journeys, channeling, cosmic consciousness, crystal consciousness, expansion, contact with interdimensional or extraterrestrial forces. It is a powerful stone, and its energies can at first be intimidating for those that are not aware of its energy, and tends to bring issues to the surface to be transformed, thus making it called "stone of transformation." When wearing moldavite, it is best to be mentally prepared and be properly grounded, i.e. black tourmaline, hematite, tiger's eye, smoky quartz, red jasper, or obsidian . Moldavite diminishes contracting or withdrawing energies. It in any form increases the depth and clarity of inner journeys and is said to raise the vibrational level of both the human race and the Earth. Physically, moldavite works excellently with other crystals and stones to raise the vibrational level of all healing, and also heals hair loss, fertility issues, and promotes new cell growth.

Moldavite harmonizes well with dozens of stones, including Quartz, Amethyst, Rose Quartz, Citrine, Charoite, and Larimar. It tends to supercharge and spiritualize the energies of whatever stones one uses with it.
